Russ and Lynn Turner have been missionaries in Costa Rica and Latin America for over 43 years. Following graduation from Tennessee Temple University (1977) and deputation (1978), they moved to Costa Rica and studied the Spanish language. During the next 30 years, they lived in several different areas of the country winning new converts, starting new churches, and training new leaders. They have hosted many mission teams that have served in different capacities such as construction, medical, youth, sports, and evangelism efforts. In recent years (since 2010), God has broadened their ministry to evangelize, disciple, and train the unreached or underreached tribal groups in the mountains and jungles of Panama, Colombia, Peru, and other countries.
They provide study Bibles, DVD’s, audio Bibles, eyeglasses, headlamps, basic medicines, and other necessities for these remote tribes. This ministry requires traveling by canoe on the rivers, hiking to villages, and living a basic lifestyle similar to the tribal people. Many tribal people are responding to the gospel message resulting in transformed lives through the power of Christ!
